Resveratrol Derivatives to Pass the Blood Brain Barrier

Abstract

The Krebs cycle contains several carboxylic acid intermediates that have been found in observable levels in the brain. In this study, resveratrol is conjugated to different Krebs cycle intermediates to investigate whether these Krebs cycle molecules can act as a sort of “shuttle” to carry resveratrol into the brain.
