    Abstract
    Abstract
The goal of our project was to work with Dr. Roman K. Kovalev in continuing to collect and catalog dirham hoards from the 7thto 11thcenturies found all across Eurasia in his decades-long project or catalog that was started by Dr. Thomas S. Noonan. Over the summer we helped Dr. Kovalev enter dozens of hoards into the catalog, converted the entire catalog from the antiquated Word Perfect format into the much more manageable .docxformat appropriate for Microsoft Word, and wrote a Python script to scrape the catalog in order to input each coin into an Excel spreadsheet for mass data analysis. This data reveals enormous amount of information regarding the trade patterns of early medieval Eurasia.
