    Abstract
    Abstract
Our group is using computer models of molecular systems to better understand the impact of deep eutectic solvents on the protein insulin. Specifically, we are studying how the deep eutectic solvent choline geranate stabilizes the active monomeric form of insulin over other inactive forms of the protein. Deep eutectic solvents have the ability to interact with and influence the stability of proteins, making 38 them particularly useful in drug design. Understanding the ways that a deep eutectic solvent can alter the efficacy and delivery of insulin is essential to the development of diabetes treatment.
