Abstract
In the field of synthetic biology, proteins are used for a wide range of applications, from medicine to biofuels to synthetic material. To enable such applications, it is often necessary to modify existing proteins and identify variants with improved properties, often via the assay of diverse protein libraries. However, the space of potential protein variants is massive, with most variants misfolding or being otherwise unfit. Our research aims to create a diverse but targeted library, maximizing beneficial variants, while minimizing synthesis cost.
